MTV I Hate You

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

So it was a good ride… Urge, how I will miss you. Urge is now “partnering” with Rhapsody, which I think means they were bought out or something, but honestly I couldn’t give a shit less about the business end. I know they expect me to migrate my Urge account over to Rhapsody but I refuse. The software is a POS… I have to download and install it places (Browser music is not an option for me as I reboot browsers ever 10 minutes for enabling and disabling plugins), I can’t even get the software installed on my Vista machines (I already had to try to get preloaded music off my Sansa) and Last.fm isn’t supported via the client (some weird old scrobbler shit is available I think) so all in all that will be a big fat no. I am now on the prowl for a new music service (thank god I went month to month on Urge like a couple weeks back!)

Napster maybe? I dunno. Maybe if Rhapsody moves their shit into WMP and gets some last.fm support before the final bell, but who knows.

About Lynn Wallenstein

My name is Lynn Wallenstein and I am one of the co-founders of Powered By Geek, a contracting and consulting firm formed by some friends and I who were sick of working 100 hour weeks while our bosses get richer but that is a whole other story. This is where I ramble about all things design, code, project or whatever based both for PBG and for my collection of personal projects.
