I am a Microsoft Fan Boy

destructoid-dot-com-fanboy-anatomy.jpgAt least according to Leo Laporte on the Windows Weekly Podcast because I want a Zune. I hope that is not true… I try and not be a fan boy of anything (except Tivo…. mmmmm… Tivo), however I do find myself playing devils advocate against anyone that I find is a fan boy of anything. I find this particularly with companies like Apple and Google just because I feel they are manipulating the general public into thinking they are the underdogs… on the same note I really respect their marketing abilities and some of their products are really great… JUST NOT ALL OF THEM. I personally have two reasons why I would never buy a mac and it isn’t because I love Windows, but more A) I spent my own money on my computers so I want to not feel like I was raped on hardware B) I am not impressed by the elements that are Mac only. They don’t appeal to me graphically (blue goo) and I want all web based stuff so apps are like yesterdays news for me. I don’t feel I am missing anything and on the couple things I find more “elegant” I would have to pay 10 times over for something I could get on a pc. I have a bit more respect for Google in the fashion of I think at the core they are trying to make really good products. As with everything they will have some failures and get lost along the way, but I think they have a bit more of true altruisticness (is that a word?) about them then the fake one that Apple puts out. My feelings about Microsoft? I respect Microsoft on a whole other level because I feel they are being honest with me. I thing they are trying to snag money out of my pocket, but they aren’t whispering in my ear sweet nothings as they bend me over… they are more like “Hey Baby.. wanna fuck?” attitude.

Well Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and that is my rant of the hour.
