A Podcast for the Rest of Us

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

I love podcasts and as I have mentioned before, I probably listen to like 20 podcasts every week. The problem with the podcasts I listen to is that the majority of them, while technology based are a little below my level. I am not saying that there aren’t bits of lil information that I can gleam from them, but podcasts like Tekzilla, Diggnation or honestly most of the Twit and Rev3 podcasts are discussions either dumbed down for the newbie computer user (How to install your video card! Running Firefox from a USB Key!) or reporting news that I read on my Google Reader a week earlier (a common problem with periodic reporting). The other group of podcasts I listen to are extremely technical programming , web design or Photoshop podcasts that are really tutorials more then conversations.

I didn’t realize how much I was missing a intelligent discussion podcast about current technology topics until I found Citizen Garden

Welcome to the Citizen Garden podcast, a semi-regular chat with Chris Messina of Citizen Agency and Larry Halff of Ma.gnolia. In this inaugural edition, you’ll hear us chatter about the social web of the past year, the Citizen Web of the coming year, and even our clairvoyant visions for year after that.

If you care about things like social networks, privacy, data portability and new technologies and what they will do for you, I HIGHLY suggest you check it out! Now only if their feed would play well with my google reader.

About Lynn Wallenstein

My name is Lynn Wallenstein and I am one of the co-founders of Powered By Geek, a contracting and consulting firm formed by some friends and I who were sick of working 100 hour weeks while our bosses get richer but that is a whole other story. This is where I ramble about all things design, code, project or whatever based both for PBG and for my collection of personal projects.
