Give A Damn

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

So, I personally don’t give much of a shit about hardware anymore. I care that it can run the software I want and that it doesn’t explode in my lap but that is about it. Yes, there is a total coolness factor of some hardware, and other hardware (pink IPODS for example) I tend to associate with the Hello Kitty crowd, but honestly whatever. Alienware, HP, Apple, Dell… it is all the same shit anyway, we are all fucking writing web pages and surfing the web… It is all about how you “want to be seen” and what you want to spend.

BUT…. I saw this the other day, and it made me think. I am definately not an environmentalist at all, but I would say there are things I do in my life on a conscience effort to try and help… using my own washable coffee mug even at Star Bucks, shit like that. So, perhaps maybe when I buy my next cell phone (which it is about time) I think I won’t be buying a Motorola…. which I previously was considering.

About Lynn Wallenstein

My name is Lynn Wallenstein and I am one of the co-founders of Powered By Geek, a contracting and consulting firm formed by some friends and I who were sick of working 100 hour weeks while our bosses get richer but that is a whole other story. This is where I ramble about all things design, code, project or whatever based both for PBG and for my collection of personal projects.
