So much has happened, yet not much to post. Lets see… BeckyRuxpin got moved to his new home, which is why all the server downtime. He is happy and up behind the firewall. I haven’t made accounts for anyone as I am going to do it on a “if you need it let me know” option because I think I had a lot of accounts people weren’t using before. Got rid of the shoutbox, it was a security nightmare… enjoying my little mid week vacation, even though I am working remotely. Been on a weird sleeping kick, kinda works for me… I think it is not in my nature to get up before 11… 1 on the weekends. Been doing pretty well on the New Years resolutions, specifically the projects one. I have spent a lot of time doing tutorials for both art and music, doing the gym basically 45 minutes every day before work (sometimes late at night)… and finishing a lot of projects that I started… or at least getting project ideas underway. That was really my largest resolution… being that I am so good at starting things. I have realized that >>MY<< problem is that I look for other people to do things with and the brain storming is great and everything, but I personally feel I get stuck with the lions share of the work and then I feel bad because I feel possesive to the idea or I don’t want their input or something… so my new thing is “plan on doing it yourself, and if someone helps, thats great, if they don’t… you weren’t depending on them anyway”. I shouldn’t say this is all people, I have one or two friends who are helpful… unfortunatly every one is just on different schedules, and the fact is everyone is involved with little projects with everyone… it is just a nasty big web and sometimes the timing collides. I think partially because I don’t drive it makes it harder to do projects and such, but honestly… that may be a good thing as a lot of the times when I see people doing stuff together it never ends up productive, it is more just hanging out pretending there is a cause. Perhaps I should try collaborating with people I don’t know :)

About Lynn Wallenstein

My name is Lynn Wallenstein and I am one of the co-founders of Powered By Geek, a contracting and consulting firm formed by some friends and I who were sick of working 100 hour weeks while our bosses get richer but that is a whole other story. This is where I ramble about all things design, code, project or whatever based both for PBG and for my collection of personal projects.
